Asics x Kiko Kostadinov: A bold and technical reimagining of the GEL-DS Trainer 14
An inspiration drawn from nature and the art of paper cutting
The design of this sneaker draws inspiration from nature and everyday materials. The layered upper evokes elements like rocks or fossils, while certain textures echo objects found in the urban or natural environment. This blend is intended to suggest the wear and tear of time and the contrast between raw materials and technical design.
Technical and aesthetic details
- An asymmetrical mesh and synthetic upper : The upper features an asymmetrical construction with breathable mesh underlayers, offering both optimal comfort and a distinctive aesthetic.
- GEL technology in the heel : Integrated into the midsole, GEL technology provides superior cushioning, effectively absorbing shocks for increased comfort when walking or running.
- TRUSSTIC Support System : This system provides enhanced stability to the shoe, improving the transition during movements and offering additional support to the midfoot.
Color palette
The UB9-S GEL-DS Trainer 14 is available in four colors, each reflecting the connection between nature and humanity:
- Waterfall/Lichen Rock : A combination of blue and green hues evoking waterfalls and lichen-covered rocks.
- Desert Camp/Piquant Orange : Earthy hues enhanced with bright orange, reminiscent of desert landscapes at dusk.
- Midnight/Purple Oxide : An alliance of dark and deep tones, inspired by night skies and minerals.
- Dark Mustard/Truffle Grey : Autumnal colours blending mustard yellow and truffle grey, reflecting forests in transitional season.
