Cactus Plant Flea Market (CPFM) and Nike are teaming up again. After already shaking up the industry with pairs like the Dunk Low "Grinch" in faux fur or the Air Flea 2 in moon boot style, Cynthia Lu is now applying her offbeat vision to textiles.
Unveiled by Lil Yachty on Instagram, the collection reinterprets hockey jerseys, football jerseys and basketball tracksuits with oversized proportions, unexpected materials and a visual signature impossible to ignore.
An oversized wardrobe that breaks the rules
CPFM continues to deconstruct streetwear by incorporating unexpected textures and deliberately asymmetrical cuts. The result: a collection that flirts between retro sportswear and avant-garde, with an anti-uniformity DNA.
Each piece draws inspiration from the world of sports without ever strictly adhering to it.
Among them:
The "Chutney" hockey sweater
reinterprets traditional jerseys with a crocheted knit.
The "Burgundy Ash" football shirt
mixes old school influences and minimalist graphic design.
The "Matte Silver" reflective anorak
It plays the futuristic techwear card.
The "Air Sun MX" pants in Dark Cinder
It merges tracksuits and workwear in a raw style.
The Swoosh isn't necessarily the focus of the design, often embroidered in tone-on-tone or integrated into random patterns. It's a far cry from classic sportswear: CPFM embraces a DIY aesthetic, deliberately imperfect, reflecting an experimental approach to streetwear.
Nike gives CPFM free rein, and it shows.
From its inception, CPFM hasn't sought to please everyone. This collaboration is no exception. The silhouettes are truly disproportionate, far removed from usual standards. Here, fashion plays with the rules and blurs the lines between sportswear, workwear, and technical pieces.
No official announcement from Nike yet, but Leaks surrounding the collection suggest it should be arriving soon. As is often the case with CPFM , stock is likely to sell out quickly.
