Stüssy and Denim Tears are teaming up again. After several notable collaborations, the two labels return this year with a collection that reinterprets the codes of school uniforms in a streetwear style.
Conceived by Tremaine Emory , founder of Denim Tears , this capsule collection draws direct inspiration from his high school years in Jamaica, Queens. A hybrid wardrobe where hip-hop culture, identity politics, and academic aesthetics merge to create a dialogue between heritage and modernity.
Uniforms reimagined, codes deconstructed
Far from the strict silhouettes of American campuses, Stüssy and Denim Tears reinvent the school uniform with a decidedly street vision. Oversized blazers, revisited pleated trousers, tank tops inspired by sports jerseys, all with a certain nonchalant and effortless touch.
Each piece features distinctive elements that fuse the DNA of both labels:
Stüssy 's Double S logo is associated with Denim Tears ' cotton crown , a strong nod to African-American heritage.
Metal buttons engraved with card symbols, in reference to the game of Spades , rooted in African American culture.
A revisited houndstooth pattern, reworked with a more raw and textured approach, far from its overly strict image.
More than just a reinterpretation of the school uniform, this new collection blurs the lines between heritage and urban culture, imposing an uncompromising streetwear vision.
A drop that won't stay in stock for too long
The Stüssy Tears collection has been available since February 14, 2025, on the Denim Tears website and at a selection of stores, including African Diaspora Goods in New York.
And as with every collaboration between these two labels, the pieces are not expected to remain in stock for very long.
